The Importance of Web Traffic is so HUGE if you want to be successfull with your online business and website

The Importance of Web Traffic

If you have a website then you already know the importance of web traffic. Web traffic is to Internet marketing as location is to real estate. It's the only thing that really matters. If you cannot generate targeted visitors to your site, you will not make any sales.

Increase your Website Traffic

Usually the owner or designer of the website is the person designated to drive web traffic to the site. The chief ingredient in generating web traffic is the search engine. Of coarse, you can use advertising, but it's going to cost you. Using the search engines to generate targeted (interested in your product) web traffic is the least expensive method known.

Unfortunately, many website owners do not understand the importance of search engine visibility, which leads to web traffic. They place more importance on producing a "pretty" website. Not that this is bad, but it is really secondary to search engine placement. Hopefully, the following list of common mistakes, made by many website owners, will help you generate more targeted web traffic to your site...after all, isn't that what you want.

Increase your Website Traffic

1. Not using keywords effectively. This is probably one of the most critical area of site design. Choose the right keywords and potential customers will find your site. Use the wrong ones and your site will see little, if any, web traffic.

2. Repeating the same keywords. When you use the same keywords over and over again (called keyword stacking) the search engines may downgrade (or skip) the page or site.

3. Robbing pages from other websites. How many times have you heard or read that "this is the Internet and it's ok" to steal icons and text from websites to use on your site. Don't do it. Its one thing to learn from others who have been there and another to outright copy their work. The search engines are very smart and usually detect page duplication. They may even prevent you from ever being listed by them.

Increase your Website Traffic

4. Using keywords that are not related to your website. Many unethical website owners try to gain search engine visibility by using keywords that have nothing at all to do with their website. They place unrelated keywords in a page (such as "sex", the name of a known celebrity, the hot search topic of the day, etc.) inside a meta tag for a page. The keyword doesn't have anything to do with the page topic. However, since the keyword is popular, they think this will boost their visibility. This technique is considered spam by the search engines and may cause the page (or sometimes the whole site) to be removed from the search engine listing.

5. Keyword stuffing. Somewhat like keyword stacking listed above, this means to assign multiple keywords to the description of a graphic or layer that appears on your website by using the "alt=" HTML parameter. If the search engines find that this text does not really describe the graphic or layer it will be considered spam.

6. Relying on hidden text. You might be inclined to think that if you cannot see it, it doesn't hurt. Wrong.... Do not try to hide your keywords or keyword phrases by making them invisible. For example, some unethical designers my set the keywords to the same color as the background of the web page; thereby, making it invisible.

Increase your Website Traffic

7. Relying on tiny text. This is another version of the item above (relying on hidden text). Do not try to hide your keywords or keyword phrases by making them tiny. Setting the text size of the keywords so small that it can barely be seen does this.

8. Assuming all search engines are the same. Many people assume that each search engine plays by the same rules. This is not so. Each has their own rule base and is subject to change anytime they so desire. Make it a point to learn what each major search engine requires for high visibility.

9. Using free web hosting. Do not use free web hosting if you are really serious about increasing site web traffic via search engine visibility. Many times the search engines will eliminate content from these free hosts.

10. Forgetting to check for missing web page elements.

Make sure to check every page in your website for completeness, like missing links, graphics, etc. There are sites on the web that will do this for free. This is just a few of the methods and techniques that you should avoid. Do not give in to the temptation that these methods will work for you. They will do more harm than good for your website. Not only will you spend weeks of wasted effort, you may have your site banned from the search engines forever. Invest a little time to learn the proper techniques for increasing search engine visibility and your net web traffic will increase.

Starting out, it will be slow. Especially if you don't have any referrals. In my opinion direct referrals is the key to success . Some people will take the quick route and invest in rentals. While I do not recommend investing in rentals on any site, it is up to you if you want to rent. Some do have success with renting, but please know that everyone will not have the same outcome. It is a gamble when you rent and it is not necessary to invest in order to cashout.

Affiliate Marketing, The best Product programs websites to use to make money with promoting products online

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Some people remember the 1990’s as a tremendous period of growth for grunge music and Jim Carrey films. While this is true, most people will probably tell you the 90’s were responsible for this big, beautiful, technology called the World Wide Web (aka the internet, the web, the vast digital ocean of information at our finger tips). And with any new technology or media, companies quickly realized they had a new opportunity to market their products and services to consumers via the millions of websites they visit every day.

With the emergence of search engines in the mid-1990’s, the internet ballooned into a massive e-commerce and information machine. Website owners were creating valuable content and providing tremendous benefits to their visitors, and these website owners wanted to be compensated for their hard work. Early forms of online advertising like CPM or fixed placement started seeing competition from emerging, more accountable forms of online advertising, like affiliate marketing. So, what is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing at its very core is about relationships, a relationship between three parties:

In the world of affiliate marketing, an advertiser can be a company selling a product like electronics, airline tickets, clothing or car parts, or an advertiser could also be an insurance company selling policies. The most important thing to remember is that you are an advertiser if you are ready to pay other people to help you sell and promote your business.

A publisher is an individual or company that promotes an advertiser’s product or service in exchange for earning a commission. Advertisers contractually agree to work with a publisher, then provide the publisher with creative – in the form of links, banner or text ads or even unique phone numbers – that the publisher incorporates into their website.

The final component that completes the affiliate relationship triangle is the consumer. The consumer is the one who actually sees the ad and then makes an action (either by clicking a link or by submitting their information via a form) that takes them from the publisher’s website to the advertiser’s to complete the action, which we call a conversion.

How Does Affiliate Marketing Work?

Let's face it: technology, especially the internet, can be pretty daunting to try to grasp, and with terms like malware, cursor and spam, it also seems pretty dangerous. So kudos to the guys who decided e-commerce and affiliate marketing should rely on an innocuous technology called a "cookie."
A cookie is a technology that works with web browsers to store information like user preferences, login or registration information, and shopping cart contents. Have you ever opted-in to have a website "remember" your password and username for one of your online accounts? That's a cookie. Ever notice while searching the web for "travel deals" and you suddenly start seeing travel display banners on other websites? Those ads are appearing for you because you've been cookied (it's okay, you won't get hurt).

In affiliate marketing, one task that cookies manage is to remember the link or ad the visitor to a website clicks on. Cookies can also store the date and time of the click, they can even be used to remember what kind of websites or content you like most. There are many different types of web cookies and uses, but the kind of cookie affiliate marketing relies on is called a first-party cookie.
When a user visits a publisher's website and clicks an advertiser's creative ad, the visitor's browser receives the CJ tracking cookie that identifies the advertiser, the publisher, the specific creative and commission amount. This data is stored within the link information in what are called "parameters" and can include even more anonymous data used for attribution.

Referrals are key to growing your Business, PTC Program, Traffic exchange and more

Referrals are key to growing your Business, PTC Program, Traffic exchange and more

Referral Programs

In today's world of Yelp reviews and Google searches, it's easy for businesses to forget about the power of customer referrals. You see, prospects are bombarded by loud advertisements and slick salespeople all day long. But that's far from what they really want.

What they really want is this: to learn about a business or service from trustworthy friends and acquaintances that vouch for it themselves. As a result, every business needs a robust referral system to continually connect with highly qualified prospects.

Bill Cates, founder of Referral Coach International and author of the new book, Beyond Referrals - How to Use the Perpetual Revenue System to Turn Referrals into High-Value Clients. Cates calls referrals "forgotten gold." Most businesses are aware that they should be focusing more on getting referrals -- but they don't, because they don't have a referral system already in place. Building such a system from the ground up can seem like a time-consuming and challenging task.

Referral Programs

But before throwing in the towel on establishing a referral system, first consider the upside to getting more referrals:

1. There is no cost: When Cates first began working with one of his clients, Anderson Windows, they calculated their cost per lead to be a whopping $400. Once they developed a referral system, says Cates, their cost per lead dropped precipitously.
2. You'll increase your closing ratio: The closing ratio of a cold call is typically under 1 percent. The closing ratio of an inbound lead usually ranges between 15 percent and 30 percent. In sharp comparison, the closing ratio of a strong referral can be as high as 80 percent.
3. You'll make larger sales: In today's market -- where prospects are hugely distrustful of salespeople -- it's difficult to close larger sales. When a prospect is introduced to your organization through someone that he trusts, you are more likely to close a larger sale as a result.
4. Referrals beget referrals: When you make a sale from a referral, that new client is going to be more inclined to refer you to others in his network as well. Think of it this way: You're creating an army of unpaid salespeople who recommend you to other potential prospects.

Referral Programs

Now that we've discussed the benefits of referrals, let's explore the key elements to an effective referral system, according to Bill Cates:

1. Have a referral mindset: It all begins with becoming aware of the opportunity that's in front of you and taking advantage of that opportunity. Most salespeople let referral opportunities slip by when their customers give positive feedback. Don't be one of them!
2. Work on your "referrability": You need to become referable to your customers in two ways. First, you need to make sure that it was a total pleasure to do business with your company and that you were invaluable to your customer. Second, you need to be aware of how you stay in touch with
your customers over time. Do you fall off their radar once you do business together or do you stay closely connected? Make sure it's the latter.
3. Be proactive: It's your job to promote referrals all the time. The next time your client praises you, Cates recommends that you reply with this: "Thank you so much! Please don't keep me a secret." And then, more important, actually ask for the referral! Salespeople often try to get referrals without asking. Customers are not mind readers -- it's your responsibility to ask.
4. Turn referrals into introductions: Referrals are no longer enough anymore -- you need to be connected through an introduction. This means that you must ask to be introduced directly, through the most appropriate medium -- face-to-face meeting, phone call, or e-mail.
5. Manage your referrals: How you treat a referral will determine whether that referral source will give you more referrals. So be meticulously organized with your referrals, calling them immediately. Be sure to keep your referral source in the loop and send him a handwritten note with a gift.

By developing a referral system, you create a company culture based on servicing your clients. Your customers are a sales force in their own right -- don't let them keep you a secret!
